On 5 June 2025, The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (1 RGR) marked the Regiment’s 31st birthday with a grand celebration in Brunei.
A heartfelt birthday message from Major General G M Strickland DSO MBE (Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas), along with greetings from British Forces Brunei Commander and the Gurkha Major set the tone for the day.
The celebrations were filled with traditional games, captivating art displays, family events, Khukuri demonstrations, and a wonderful performance from the 1 RGR Pipes and Drums, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the occasion.
