From 2–13 February, 18 personnel from Communications Troop, 10 Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR), deployed on Exercise KHUKURI BEYOND LINE. The exercise focused on developing communications specialists through a new capability software uplift, strengthening their technical skills and preparing them for future deployments. Communications specialists from the Gurkha Allied Rapid Reaction Force (GARRC) also took part, adding further depth to the training.

The initial phase, PACEX (2–8 February), centred on mission preparation. During this period, the team rigorously tested communications and data across Bowman systems, including HCDR, HF, VHF, and Wave radio. Working alongside GARRC specialists, the troops showed strong initiative by delivering communications lessons, enhancing both technical proficiency and readiness ahead of the main phase.

The main phase (9–13 February) saw the teams formally validated across multiple locations, Elmoore Training Area, Longmoor Training Area, Folkestone, and MOD Sculthorpe, covering a total of 323km. This successful validation has significantly strengthened the unit’s communications capability and ensured the smooth integration of the new software, placing the troop in an excellent position for upcoming exercises and operations.
