The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles have a small team in Corsica on Expedition CORSICAN GURKHA. By day three, they have reached Ascu.
The team is carrying heavy packs to improve fitness while learning about navigation and travel in the mountain environment. Team leaders are delivering the Summer Mountaineering Foundation qualification to all participants.
The expedition is led by Captain Alex Fall, Staff Sergeant Bal Kumar Budha Magar and Corporal Sailesh Rai assisting as instructors.
