Gurkha Veteran Presented with the British Empire Medal
Warrant Officer Class Two (Retd) Satyasagar Ghale, who served with The 6th Queen Elizabeth’s Own Gurkha Rifles, was presented with the British Empire Medal by the Her Excellency Ms Lindy Cameron CB OBE (British High Commissioner to India) on 1 April 2026. at the High Commissioner’s residence, 2 Rajaji Marg, New Delhi.
The British Empire Medal (BEM) is a UK honour awarded for meritorious civil or military service, specifically recognizing service to the local community, such as long-term charitable work or innovative high impact contribution or significant act of service.
Also in attendance were family members including Major Kiran Pun MVO (Gurkha Major British Gurkhas Nepal).
