A (DELHI) Company, The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles leading the Recruit Intake 23 induction in Brunei.
The training included the Annual Combat Marksmanship Test, with the SA80A2 Rifle, Pistol, and Sharpshooter familiarisation training. The best shot award was secured by Rifleman Bishnu Rai. The training was led by Corporal Mahendra Rai.
This was followed by Exercise Urban Guruji, three days at the Urban Skills House to give the new Rifleman basic understanding of the concepts of Urban Warfare up to section and platoon level. This was led by Sergeant Pradeep Gurung.
The young Rifleman had an incredible opportunity to learn valuable lesson of survival in the jungle from more experienced Gurkhas and jungle experts. They were also able to experience river crossing which has expand their knowledge, skills and gained experienced, which will be undoubtadly useful in the future. This activity was led by Sergeant Pradeep Gurung.
