General Sir Roly Walker KCB DSO ADC Gen, Chief of the General Staff (CGS) (British Army), visited the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill, on 21 July 2026.
Throughout the visit, CGS observed training across the full spectrum of Artillery development, from initial trade training through to specialist trade training.
The programme provided him with valuable insight into how the next generation of Gunners are being prepared for future Operations.
The King’s Gurkha Artillery (KGA) had the honour of welcoming CGS for the first time, marking the occasion with a Guard of Honour and the presentation of the Regimental Colour Garland.
To commemorate the visit, CGS was presented with a 105mm cartridge case fired in honour of His Majesty The King at the Formation parade of the KGA. This will be an enduring symbol of a significant milestone in the Regiment’s history.
