A determined team from the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, led by Captain O’Grady, proudly took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, 12 April 2026, in support of The Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT).
In true Gurkha spirit, each runner completed the entire route carrying a 15kg Doko, crossing the finish line together in an impressive 2 hours and 26 minutes.
Their efforts raised a remarkable £2,020 for the GWT, directly supporting the welfare of Gurkha veterans and their families.

This achievement was made possible through the dedication of team coach Corporal Jiban Shahi, whose tireless work in organising charity messing, coordinating event logistics, securing GWT Dokos, and producing fundraising materials ensured the team was fully prepared and supported throughout.
