Results from the 1 RGR Junior Leadership Cadre 26

Over the last few weeks, The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, have been conducting a Junior Leadership Cadre (JLC) to select the next generation of young Gurkha leaders, on the first promotion step to the key rank of Lance Corporal. The following Gurkhas received awards and recognition at the end of the cadre.

Most Supportive Studets JLC26:

  • 1 Platoon – Rifleman (Rfn) Pujan Balal
  • 2 Platoon – Rfn Amrit Rai

Both students were exemplary throughout JLC. Throughout the conceptual and tactical phase of JLC, both are heavily relied upon by his peers to support them when they both out of appointments. High standard of soldering skills ensured both as a role model to their numbaries.

Most Improved Student – Rfn Anish Bhujel

Throughout the conceptual phase of the JLC, he demonstrated his ability to learn, improving on his formative feedback and learning from development points given to others in his section. Consequently, he grew in experience, confidence, and presence throughout JLC.

Fittest Student – Rfn Roshan Bhandari.

Showcased his fitness prowess, achieving outstanding results in the 2 miler – 1st lace, 3 miler – 2nd place and 5 miler – 1st place

Promotion Rifleman to Lance Corporal:

  • 1st – JLC26 Top Student – Rfn Dikesh Magar Thapa
  • 2nd – Rfn Hemanta Gawali
  • 3rd – Rfn Roshan Bhandari
  • 4th – Rfn Rohan Pithakoti Magar

Sergeant Bel Gurung (Training Sergeant JLC26) – Received a Commanding Officers’ Coin for his tireless work and selfless commitment.
