On 3 September 2026, Headquarters British Gurkhas Nepal welcomed The Rt Hon Baroness Winterton DBE, UK Minister for the Indo‑Pacific Region, accompanied by His Majesty’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mr Rob Fenn.
Colonel Dan Rex MVO, Commander BGN; Lieutenant Colonel Rob Browne, Deputy Commander BGN; Major Kiran Pun MVO, Gurkha Major BGN; and BGN staff received the delegation at the Kathmandu headquarters.
The visit included a solemn puja at the BGN Temple, led by Gurkha Major BGN and BGN Pandit Mr Jhabindra Gyawali, offering prayers for all those affected by the recent Rasuwa flood.
Baroness Winterton later met BGN families and female staff, expressing her solidarity with ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in the flood‑hit region. She thanked the BGN team for their steadfast contribution to strengthening the enduring UK–Nepal relationship.
