The Corps Operational Shooting Competition 2026, held at Lydd and Hythe Ranges, showcased the highest standards of marksmanship, professionalism, and competitive spirit across the Royal Corps of Signals. Demonstrating consistency and excellence throughout the event, 30th Signal Regiment emerged as the champion unit within the Corps, securing an impressive third place overall at the inter‑corps level. This achievement reflects not only the individual skill of its competitors but also the Regiment’s collective commitment to training, preparation, and operational effectiveness.
A defining moment of the competition was the outstanding performance of Signaller Yubaraj Gubaju, who was recognised as the Best Shot in the Corps. His precision, composure, and technical proficiency set the benchmark for excellence and contributed significantly to the Regiment’s overall success.
This success was underpinned by strong leadership throughout the team. Captain Rabin Gurung, Officer in Charge, provided clear direction and ensured the team remained focused and cohesive across all serials. Warrant Officer Class Two Brindan Tulachan played a pivotal role in mentoring and managing the team, fostering high standards and discipline. As shooting team lead, Corporal Prem Gurung demonstrated effective leadership, maintaining momentum and ensuring consistent performance in every event.
