In a display of exceptional marksmanship and shooting tactics, 1st Signal Regiment shooting team, led by Captain Sachin Thapa, emerging victorious in the 7th Signal Group operational shooting competition, demonstrating superior skills across multiple matches in challenging weather conditions.
The competition took place at the Bulford ranges, and brought together many teams fromvarious regiments within the Group. Over the two intense days of competition, participants faced a comprehensive range of challenges which were designed to test our abilities in different match conditions.
1st Signal Regiment stood out above the rest in every match, demonstrating high precision in target acquisition, aiming for the highest possible score. Coaching was the key to our victory. Captain Sachin Thapa, Captain Sekendra Gurung, and the overall top shot, Lance Corporal Ajay Gurung invested their time and experience into each team members performance and helped the team adapt to different shooting conditions, including adjusting for wind, distance, height and timings.
Colonel C M Dixon, Commander of 7th Signal Group, commended the exceptional standard of marksmanship demonstrated by all participating teams. He acknowledged the demanding nature of regimental responsibilities and praised the teams for their outstanding execution of the competition, despite the challenging freezing weather conditions.
