Cyber Challenge 2025 – 16th Signal Regiment

On 25 September 2025, 16th Signal Regiment held its annual Commanding Officer’s Cyber Challenge, where 247 Gurkha Signal Squadron emerged victorious. This win propelled the 247 Gurkha Signal Squadron to first place overall in the 16th Signal Regiment Commanding Officer’s Challenge. The team was led by Staff Sergeant Dilip Subba and was supported by Sergeant Santa Limbu.

The event was comprised of four stands:

  • Ethernet cable making and a technical quiz
  • Fault finding and correction in a virtual laboratory
  • A briefing on cyber-related opportunities within the British Army
  • An information gathering and report writing exercise

Four squadrons participated in the competition, organised by the Support Squadron. The event provided all participants with greater awareness of how modern digital warfare extends into the virtual realm of cyberspace, highlighting the strategic importance of cyber capabilities in contemporary military operations.
