Enhancing Allied Rapid Reaction Corps Force Protection Through Soldier Led Innovation

Following DSEI 2025, the Gurkha Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) Support Battalion identified a requirement to improve threat detection and force protection measures for Headquarters ARRC. With the support of the chain of command, funding was secured under Project RAPSTONE to address this capability gap.

The Battalion has now taken delivery of three CB52 cameras, providing positive identification out to 2 km and significantly enhancing day‑ and night‑time surveillance. Five personnel are already trained, with robust processes established to manage, maintain, and sustain the capability.

This development stands as a strong example of soldier‑led innovation delivering tangible operational effect and strengthening the security of the Headquarters.
