The Cateran Yomp (Youth Outdoor Mountain Programme) is widely regarded as one of the UK’s toughest endurance challenges. Each year, hundreds of participants tackle its demanding 54‑mile route across the rugged Scottish wilderness, completing the course within 24 hours through the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains.

An 8‑man team from the Gurkha Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (Support Battalion), led by Captain Bikram Thapa and Corporal Bivek Rai, demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout this formidable event. Completing the full 54‑mile course in under 21hrs, the team earned a coveted Gold Distinction Award. This recognition is reserved for only the most committed and capable participants.

Their achievement reflects great credit on the team, the Battalion, and the enduring Gurkha spirit of courage, discipline, and unwavering resolve.
