On 1 September 2025, eight personnel from 16 Signal Regiment embarked on the inaugural Three Peak Doko Challenge 2025. Each participant carried a 10kg traditional Nepali Doko to the summits of the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis – 1,345 metres), England (Scafell Pike – 978 metres), and Wales (Snowdon – 1,085 metres), all within a demanding 24-hour timeframe.
This marked the first ever Three Peak Challenge undertaken by 16 Signal Regiment. The event was organised by Lance Corporal Ritesh Rai and Lance Corporal Ravi Ghale, and their dedicated support team.
What began as a personal test of endurance quickly evolved into a shared journey of resilience, camaraderie, and unwavering teamwork. The group’s unity and determination were evident throughout, culminating in an impressive completion time of 23 hours and 40 minutes.
The challenge began with a mix of nerves and excitement as the team stood at the base of Ben Nevis, where the reality of the task ahead quickly set in. The most testing moment came during the night ascent of Scafell Pike, where poor visibility and physical exhaustion pushed our limits. Yet, the spirit of teamwork prevailed. From Lance Corporal Ravi Ghale’s morale-boosting hot meals after Ben Nevis to Staff Sergeant Arjun Limbu’s unwavering encouragement during the final climb up Snowdon, the team supported one another relentlessly. Despite the pressure of time, we completed Snowdon in under 3hrs and 40mins.
The experience was not solely about reaching the finish line, it was about the shared journey, the bonds forged, and the memories created along the way. Each participant demonstrated passion, courage, and determination, proving that when individuals unite with a common goal, extraordinary achievements are possible.
