Brigade of Gurkhas Nepal (BGN) bid farewell to Colonel Paul Smith (Commander BGN) on on the 3rd of July 2024, who served a successful term of over three years as the Commander BGN. Colonel Paul Smith leaves us with a lot of good memories at BGN and we are sure that he and his family will be taking many good memories along a lot of them not just from BGN but also from their whole experience in Nepal. Colonel Smith also served as the Defence Attaché and Director, Gurkha Welfare Trust (Nepal) during his term in Nepal.

Lieutenant Colonel Rajeshkumar Gurung (Deputy Commander), Major Gyanbahadur Dhenga (Gurkha Major) and Warrant Officer Class One Manojkumar Jugjali (Regimental Sergeant Major), led the formal tow-out of the Commander, as the entire BGN staff, families and partners gathered to watch.

In his farewell speech, Colonel Smith mentioned the exceptional reputation and mission of BGN and thanked all the staff for their unwavering support. BGN wishes the best to him and his wife Mrs Charlotte Smith, and their family.
