Gurkha Recruit Intake 26 has completed their training on bayonet fighting. This demonstrates their understanding of controlled aggression, determination, and the essential close‑quarter combat skills required of an infantry soldier.
Bayonet training remains a cornerstone of infantry preparation. Beyond physical technique, it develops the offensive spirit, mental resilience, discipline and aggression under control that underpin a soldier’s ability to close with and defeat an enemy in the most demanding circumstances. These qualities are vital when engagements become close, chaotic and physically testing.
Throughout the training, the recruits displayed commendable commitment and determination, executing drills with precision, focus and enthusiasm. Their performance reflects the high standards expected of them as they continue their progression towards becoming professionally trained Gurkha soldiers.
