Gurkhas from The King’s Gurkha Artillery take on PARAS’ 10

For the first time, a team of Gurkha Gunners proudly took part in the PARAS’’10 event in Catterick. This demanding 10‑mile multi‑terrain endurance race, held annually at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, is inspired by the Parachute Regiment’s renowned P Company selection test, a benchmark of physical robustness, determination and military grit.
The team consisted of:
- Lance Bombardier (LBdr) Thamsuhang (Team Captain)
- Gunner (Gnr) Saroj Rai
- Gnr Ganesh Kulung
- Gnr Sagar Bohora
- LBdr Dhiraj Rai (Team Manager and Administrator)
Their participation marks an important milestone for The King’s Gurkha Artillery (KGA). The team’s commitment, resilience and competitive spirit have inspired others within KGA to step forward, challenge themselves and pursue achievements that may once have seemed out of reach, even amidst demanding professional commitments.
This inaugural entry into PARAS’ 10 highlights the growing presence, capability and confidence of Gurkha Gunners within the wider Royal Artillery. It reflects not only physical endurance, but also the Gurkha ethos of courage, discipline and unwavering resolve.
