The Introductory Nepali Culture and Language Course 24/02 was successfully delivered at British Gurkhas Kathmandu (BGK) in November 2024. This five-day course, facilitated by the Brigade Culture and Language Team (BCLT), aims to provide basic skills in the Nepali language along with cultural insights. The BCLT offers this course biannually at BGK, targeting non-Nepalese service personnel, their families, British school teachers, and staff from the British Embassy.

The course included an interactive painting session, where participants engaged in a creative activity while practicing their Nepali language skills with instructors and local community members. This session was particularly notable for the attendance of distinguished guests, including Mrs Julia Fenn (wife of His Majesty’s Ambassador to Nepal), Mrs Anna Rex (wife of Commander British Gurkhas Nepal/Defence Attaché), Lady Caroline Dalmaney, and Lord Caspian Dalmaney (wife and son of the Regional Political Officer), highlighting the diverse appeal of the course.
