Mr Babu Ram Adhikari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defense, Government of Nepal visited Headquarters Brigade of Gurkhas at Robertson House, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on the 19th of May 2023, where he was hosted by the Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas and other Headquarters staff.
He was given a brief about the Brigade of Gurkhas and welfare of the soldiers within the Brigade and how the Brigade of Gurkhas is a fully integrated part of the British Army, playing a key part on operations and exercises around the world.
Before leaving the Sandhurst, he was given a guided tour on the site. The Royal Military Academy trains several Nepali Army Officer Cadets on the 44-week course, before they return to Nepal to be the next generation of young leaders in the Nepali Army.
He is also visiting the Gurkha Welfare Trust in Salisbury and the Queen’s Gurkha Signals in Blandford. He is then attending the Building Integrity UK for International Senior Leaders course at the Defence Academy Shrivenham and an office call at the Nepal Embassy in London before returning to Nepal.
