Mental Health Awareness Day Strengthens Community at Imjin Station

The Gurkha Allied Rapid Reaction Corps Support Battalion Inclusion Council (BIC) hosted a Mental Health Awareness Day at Imjin Station Gymnasium, bringing together personnel and families to promote wellbeing and resilience.

The BIC’s mission is to champion inclusion, diversity and wellbeing across the Battalion, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported. Reflecting this aim, the event created a welcoming space for open conversations, mental health awareness and access to support networks from Defence and the wider community.

The day opened with a Pilates session to encourage mindfulness and focus, followed by a relaxed “Grab a Brew” gathering that helped strengthen connections and shared understanding. Attendees then explored informative stands from eight specialist organisations, offering practical advice, resources and guidance to help maintain positive mental health.

Special thanks go to Gloucester Community Networking and Sergeant Sandeep Gurung for their outstanding planning, professionalism and commitment in delivering a meaningful and impactful event for the community.
