A team of 30 service personnel from The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, led by Warrant Officer Class Two Dhan Ghale from B Company, conducted a Battlefield Study from 12-18 of January 2025. to understand and reflect on the history of the campaign and to learn from the battle fought by our antecedent Battalions.

The Gallipoli Campaign was a battle that took place in Gallipoli Peninsula in World War One, 25 April 1915 to 9 January 1916. The 1/4th, 1/5th, 1/6th, 1/10th and 2/10th Gurkha Rifles fought during the Campaign as part of the Allied Forces. It was a significant campaign, with the Allies attempting to secure the Dardanelles Strait to open a route to Black Sea in support of Russia.
