The Army Table Tennis Association Championships 2026 was held at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre from 9 to 12 February, bringing together some of the Army’s finest sporting talent.
In a standout performance, 16 Signal Regiment, represented by players from 247 Gurkha Signal Squadron, claimed the coveted Army Inter Unit Competition title, showcasing exceptional teamwork, discipline, and technical skill.
Gurkha excellence continued in the individual events. Signaller Ashish Thapa (Queen’s Gurkha Signals) secured the Individual Plate Championship, with Sergeant Anil Limbu (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment) finishing as runner‑up.
In the Individual Novice category, Lance Corporal Henangsu Limbu (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment) was crowned Novice Champion, while Lance Corporal Diwan Tamang (Queen’s Gurkha Signals) earned a strong runner‑up position.
These achievements reflect the unwavering dedication, professionalism, and sporting spirit of Gurkha soldiers across the British Army.
