BGN Family – Training, Sports and Team Bonding

The British Gurkha Nepal (BGN) Annual Training Development Week (ATDW) and Commander’s Cup were successfully held at BGN Kathmandu on 24–25 March 2026. The annual two-day event brings together all BGN military personnel, civilian staff, and family members in one location for learning opportunities and sports sessions, providing an excellent chance to strengthen team bonds.

In 2025, the event was held in Pokhara. This year, BGN Kathmandu was pleased to host colleagues from Pokhara, Dharan, Butwal, and Darjeeling.

Following the training sessions, sporting competitions were held in football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis.

The event also saw enthusiastic participation from BGN staff and families, which was recognised by Colonel Dan Rex MVO, Commander BGN, during the closing remarks.

The event was organised by Major Surya Gurung, Warrant Officer Class One Mahesh Palungwa and Warrant Officer Class Two Ambika Kambang, with support from other staff members.
