A milestone for British Gurkhas Nepal (BGN) as it celebrated the 64th year of its service in Nepal. BGN continues to deliver to the highest standards, since its early days in Pakhlihawa and Dharan and then Pokhara and Kathmandu.
To mark the occasion, staff in BGN Kathmandu gathered on the 22nd of October to celebrate with a parade and later engaged in various sports activities. Staff in BGN Pokhara and BGN Dharan also held cake-cutting ceremonies on the same day.
In his address, Colonel Dan Rex MVO, (Commander BGN) highlighted the legacy and support for BGN, its staff from the wider Brigade of Gurkhas.
Commander BGN, Lieutenant Colonel Rajeshkumar Gurung, (Deputy Commander BGN) and Mr Toby Oshaughnessy, (Civil Secretary BGN), later presented the prizes to the winners and participants of the sports activities and other awards. Congratulations to the Medical Centre BGN Kathmandu Labour Team, BGN Kathmandu and Mr Dhansingh Tamang, Military Transport Details Clerk on receiving the General Officer Commanding Regional Command (GOC RC) Commendations.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to staff, family members and participants for their selfless commitment in supporting the local communities and valuable inputs in making the recent Dashain programmes successful.
