The Brigade of Gurkhas Drill Instructor Course is a vigorous three-week course with the aim to produce highly efficient new Drill Instructors across the Brigade of Gurkhas (BG). There were 15 students across the Brigade of Gurkhas on BGDI 2402. It is run by the Brigade Training Team (BTT).

The Drill course is a composite of leadership development, individual drill knowledge, dress and turnout, drill teaching practices (Tp), research and presentation on BG history. Everyone is assessed throughout as an individual and as squads. The three weeks are divided on formative assessment, summative assessment and consolidation week.

Everyone gave their best and the margins between the course attendees was tight. I was honoured to lead the course Passing out Parade as a Parade Commander in front the Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas and respected guests. I am the first student from Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support to secure the top student award. Lance Corporal Sudesh Rai was the parade Drill Sergeant Major, as he secured second place on the course.
