The Mission Ready Training Centre (MRTC) DOKO Race 2024 was held at Bassingbourn Barracks in April 2024. More than 50 soldiers from various cap badges, civil servants, and families participated in the event. The activities included a 5km DOKO race for soldiers carrying 15kg in a DOKO, as well as a 2km or 5km fun walk or run for civil servants and families. This initiative was organized by the Nepalese community, led by Sergeant Lilijung Gurung and Corporal Prakash Budha Magar, to raise funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT).

Captain Henry Jeffers successfully defended his title in the male category, while Major Katy Bristow emerged as the winner in the female category. The event managed to raise £1033.64 for the GWT. The conclusion of the event featured closing remarks from Commander MRTC Colonel Anthony Gawthorpe, followed by a curry lunch at the Warrant Officers and Sergeant’s Mess. We extend our gratitude to all the participants who joined in the event.
