The Defence Buddhist Network (DBN) Annual Conference 2024 took place on the 10th and 11th of July 2024 at the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre (AFCC), Beckett House, Shrivenham.
It was a remarkable success with attendees’ from across the Army, Navy, Air Force and Defence Civilian community. The guest speakers touched upon teachings of the Buddha, reflecting on its relevance and application in our contemporary world. The audience were also introduced to basic techniques on meditation and strengthening of their mental resilience. The sessions were designed to help attendees gain an understanding of Buddhist principles and discover practical ways to embody these teachings in their daily lives. It is genuinely hoped that all attendees found it valuable.
Looking forward, the DBN is enthusiastic about continuing its efforts, with plans to hold a similar conference and more activities in the coming year, all aimed at enriching the DBN as well as the wider Defence community to increase mindfulness and mental resilience through modern-day Buddhism.
The Defence Buddhist Network (DBN) welcomes anyone who is curious to know more about Buddhism and mindfulness, and wish to actively be involved and contribute to the network.
