A gala event to mark 100 years of Nepal-Britain Friendship Treaty was held on the 24th of November 2023 in Kathmandu. The programme led by British Gurkhas Nepal was attended by Mr Rob Fenn (His Majesty’s Ambassador to Nepal), Mr Bharat Raj Paudyal (Foreign Secretary Nepal Government), General Prabhu Ram Sharma (Chief of Army Staff Nepali Army) and British and Nepali compatriots.
In their keynote speeches, the Ambassador and Foreign Secretary both highlighted the unique and special relationship between the United Kingdom and Nepal and the exceptional role of the British Gurkhas in shaping the foundation of that relationship.
