15 personnel from Gurkha Company (Sittang), based at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), plus two instructors, deployed to Germany and Austria as part of Exercise CADET TIGER SLIDE 25. This Army Adventure Training (AT) exercise took place in the heart of the Allgau region of Bavaria, with skiing activities conducted on the slopes of the Nebelhorn (2,224m altitude) and the IFAN area in Austria (2,228m altitude). Warrant Officer Class Two Keshar Thapa Magar led the exercise and the instructors were Sergeant Nuru Sherpa and Major Steve Leslie, with oversight provided by Major Louise Smith.

Over several days, we progressed through the Ski Foundation Course, which then enabled us to ski confidently on green, blue and red routes on the ski slopes. The training would enhance individual resilience, foster teamwork, and develop leadership. It would also help to build confidence, courage, hazard assessment and decision-making under pressure.

Exercise CADET TIGER SLIDE 25 provided us with valuable life skills, strengthened our readiness for operational deployment, and left lasting memories of our achievement.
